Moana is struggling to reach that one last milestone at the box office worldwide. The live-action remake is suffering amid the mega hits and new launches, but it will at least beat one of the most popular comic book movies. The Disney live-action movie is a financial failure, and despite the popularity of the animated films, it did not help. It received a poor 32% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience liked it, giving it an 88%. The drastic difference between the ratings and the massive budget made it a failure.
Moana at the worldwide box office
The Disney live-action movie collected just $110k on its 7th Friday at the North American box office across 620 theaters. It dropped by 63.5% from last Friday, and it will soon exit theaters. The domestic total for the movie has hit $125.3 million. Internationally, it stands at $168.9 million cume [via Box Office Mojo], bringing the worldwide collection to $294.3 million. It is less than $10 million away from surpassing the $300 million milestone worldwide.
