Masters of the Universe at the North American box office

Masters of the Universe is a fantasy movie based on the He-Man franchise by Mattel. It is a live-action film adaptation by Travis Knight, released earlier this year, featuring Nicholas Galitzine in the titular role with Jared Leto as Skeletor. It was made on a reported budget of $170 million and released by Amazon MGM Studios in North America.

According to Box Office Mojo, Masters of the Universe opened with $29.4 million in its opening weekend at the North American box office. The film earned just $64.8 million at the North American box office over its lifetime. Despite the pre-established fanbase of the character He-Man, Masters of the Universe failed miserably at the box office.
