Kate Winslet has played different kinds of roles in her career. Recently, the actress shed light on the importance of having intimacy coordinators to film intimate scenes in movies. Winslet shared how uncomfortable she felt when these professionals weren’t hired earlier in her career.
In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, Kate Winslet said, “I would have benefited from an intimacy coordinator every single time I had to do a love scene or be partially naked or even a kissing scene. It would have been nice to have had someone in my corner, because I always had to stand up for myself.”
The Avatar: The Way of Water actress added that often, she didn’t stand up for herself because it was a part of her job. Kate shared how she sometimes didn’t like that camera angle. She isn’t comfortable standing full-frontal topless with so many people in the room. She wants her dressing gown closer to her. The Titanic actress said that when she was young, she was afraid of pissing people off or coming across as a rude person. Hence, having a voice for oneself in such environments is not easy.
