YRF released a streak of films after the COVID era. No one could have ever thought a film starring Akshay Kumar could badly tank at the box office after the actor delivered consecutive successes recently. But it happened with Bachchan Pandey. Similar was the case with other YRF releases, including Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, Saif Ali Khan & Rani Mukerji’s Bunty Aur Babli 2 and The Great Indian Family starring Vicky Kaushal in the leading role.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Rani Mukerji revealed her husband and YRF head Aditya Chopra was getting a lot of money for releasing Bachchan Pandey, Shamshera, and other films on OTT. However, he stuck to his decision of releasing those biggies in theatres.
