After Margarita With A Straw, a film based on a teenager with cerebral palsy, director Shonali Bose has a new tale to tell. This time around, the filmmaker is here to narrate the real-life story of the Chaudharys – Aditi, Niren and their daughter Aisha, who suffered from pulmonary fibrosis. Titled The Sky Is Pink, the movie features Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in lead roles. Here’s our review of the film…

What’s it about

Set in Delhi and London, The Sky Is Pink sheds light on the love life of a couple of Aditi (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) aka Moose and Niren Chaudhary (Farhan Akhtar) aka Panda. It primarily focuses on the fact that live your life to the fullest because of Zindagi na Milegi Dobara. Panda and Moose’s life is all rosy until one thing strikes and turns their life upside down – a ‘faulty’ gene of the couple, which has a possibility of harming their kids with a severe combined immune deficiency (SCID). Blame it on the destiny or something else, their second child, Aisha Chaudhary (Zaira Wasim), is born with SCID. As far as their first child, Ishaan is concerned, he seems to be in pink of his health. Aisha undergoes a bone marrow transplant, however, 13 years later, the after-effects of chemotherapy take a toll on her health. The teenager is diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, a serious condition. Is this all that sums up The Sky Is Pink? Definitely not!
