The Odyssey remains immune to new releases, as it keeps earning strong numbers and moving up in the global charts. It is the first epic ever made by Christopher Nolan and has become his biggest hit to date. The movie is surpassing several Hollywood blockbusters, inching closer to the all-time top 20 in worldwide box office grosses. The Odyssey at the worldwide box office
The Christopher Nolan-helmed movie collected $5.02 million on its 6th Friday at the box office in North America, dropping just 22.1% from last Friday, and it is running in IMAX theaters. The movie has lost 126 screens in North America with the arrival of two new movies. It has also lost its #2 spot in the domestic box office ranking and dropped to #3 on Friday.
After 36 days, the film’s North American box office total is $524.6 million, and it will approach the $550 million mark. According to Box Office Mojo, its international cume is $835.6 million, pushing the global total to $1.36 billion. It is expected to earn $1.5 billion worldwide in its original run.
