Spider-Man: Brand New Day is edging closer to the all-time top 5 in worldwide grosses. It would have to beat James Cameron’s classic blockbuster, Titanic, to achieve this feat, but will it be able to do it this weekend? Brand New Day drops to #4 in the domestic box office rankings

The Tom Holland starrer movie collected solid $9.8 million on its 4th Friday at the box office in North America. It lost the #1 spot in the domestic rankings on Friday to the new horror film, Insidious: Out of the Further. It still has a strong hold in North America, dropping just 48.3% from last Friday. After 22 days, the domestic total of the movie is $825.7 million.

Can it beat Titanic worldwide this weekend?

Firstly, according to Box Office Mojo‘s data, Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s international total stands at $1.2 billion after its third weekend, with the latest numbers to be updated by the end of the weekend. Adding that to its $825.7 million domestic gross brings the worldwide total to $2.06 billion. Now, Titanic, directed by James Cameron, has collected over $2.26 billion worldwide in its lifetime [via Box Office Mojo].
