Forgotten Island, an animated fantasy comedy based on Filipino folklore, is set to be released worldwide this weekend. The movie will, however, not turn heads with its opening-weekend box-office collection in North America. Nor will it grab the #1 spot in the domestic rankings with its debut weekend collection, as Avengers: Endgame Encore releases in theaters. Keep scrolling for the deets.
It is set in the 1990s in the Philippines and was directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado. It has been produced by DreamWorks Animation, featuring voices of H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and Lea Salonga. The animated movie has debuted with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing this article.

According to Variety’s report, Forgotten Island is aiming to earn decent numbers at the North American box office in its opening weekend. The animation is tracking to earn between $15 million and $17 million in its opening weekend at the box office in North America. It is expected to earn the #4 spot in the domestic rankings.
