Dakota Johnson entered the world of superheroes with Sony’s Madame Web, based on Marvel comics. The S.J. Clarkson directorial also stars Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim and Adam Scott. In the superhero film, Dakota plays Cassie Webb, who has the powers of clairvoyance and precognition.
When Madame Web was announced, everyone was excited to watch the Spider-Women story on the big screen. Madame Webb is a pivotal character in the comics who possesses some excellent powers. However, S.J. Clarkson’s movie turned out to be a huge disappointment. The film not only earned poor numbers at the box office but also received negative reviews from critics and fans alike.
Now, actress Dakota Johnson has opened up about the film’s failure. The actress even said that she won’t do something like this again. Dakota shared in an interview with Bustle, “But it was definitely an experience for me to make that movie. I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again because I don’t make sense in that world. And I know that now. But sometimes in this industry, you sign on to something, and it’s one thing and then as you’re making it, it becomes a completely different thing, and you’re like, Wait, what? But it was a real learning experience, and of course, it’s not nice to be a part of something that’s ripped to shreds, but I can’t say that I don’t understand.”
