Fighter underperforms in India
Director Siddharth Anand, coming fresh from the blockbuster success of Pathaan, set a lot of expectations of his aerial action extravaganza led by Hrithik Roshan. However, during the pre-release phase, it was clearly seen that the promotions were not up to the mark, and even the music didn’t turn out to be a chartbuster. As a result, the film couldn’t fulfill the mammoth expectations right from the opening day.
Even the genre of aerial action is still a bit niche in the Indian market, especially in the mass centers. So, even though the Fighter collection looks good in isolation, it is clearly underwhelming, considering the sky-high expectations and the heavy price tag attached to the biggie.
