India’s Got Latent has built its entire identity on one gamble: throw a sporting enough contestant into Samay Raina’s no-filter chaos and see if they can survive it. But guess what makes it better? When a celebrity can take a joke on themselves! While it is easy for comedians to take jibes at each other in such roast shows, Varun Dhawan just offered notes on how celebrities should take jokes on themselves! Appearing on the sixth episode, exclusively streaming on Netflix, the show got its best episodes ever!

This was an episode in which a Bollywood star finally matched Samay Raina punch for punch, rather than just absorbing the hits. Varun Dhawan did not play it safe, did not play a pricey celeb, and by the end, has essentially become one of the comedians instead of being a star! Breaking from the India’s Got Latent’s usual dual-platform format, Netflix dropped this one as a standalone exclusive – a signal in itself that the platform saw star-power potential in pairing Varun Dhawan with Samay Raina, along with Medha Shankr, Sharon Verma, and Nishant Tanwar. Samay’s rumored relationship with Medha added a layer of punches as he pointed out to Varun Dhawan – ‘Hamara hi rumor naa ud jaaye!’
