When Jeethu Joseph crafted Drishyam in 2013, no one knew that he created a cinematic universe that would eventually redefine the genre of crime thrillers in India. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Georgekutty – a quiet, movie-obsessed cable operator who goes to unimaginable lengths to shield his family – became the gold standard of character-driven drama. For over a decade, no remake, no matter how grand, could surpass the raw intensity of the Malayalam original until Ajay Devgn arrived with Drishyam: The Conclusion!

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar did something unprecedented for a remake. Rather than serving as a shot-for-shot translation, the film elevated the stakes, re-imagined the psychological mind games, and delivered an ending that hits with a distinct force!

Drishyam The Conclusion Stands Taller Than Drishyam 3

While the first Drishyam and Drishyam 2 in Hindi were adapted from the Malayalam version, Drishyam 3 by Abhishek Pathak took a totally different route from Mohanlal’s Georgekutty, and it made a huge difference! Do not get me wrong here! Mohanlal will forever remain the founding father of this universe. His performance as Georgekutty is rooted in subtle brilliance. Yet, purely as a cinematic finale, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 delivers a more satisfying, high-stakes, and emotionally devastating conclusion.
