Prahaar Trailer Review: Rajkummar Rao Fighting Ajmal Kasab & His Lawyer Jaideep Ahlawat Assuring “Mera Hisaab Bajrang Bali Lenge” Makes You Breathless!

Some dates are historic, and some are just a nightmare! 26/11 is the latter for every Indian, as India faced one of its most brutal and deadliest terrorist attacks in human history when terrorists infiltrated the economic capital of the country. Mumbai Terror Attacks have one name etched in our memories – Ajmal Kasab, a 17-year-old boy whose pictures and videos went viral as he turned a beast with an AK-47, killing innocents and rejoicing. Kasab was captured, and a trial followed where he faced the wrath of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam! Rajkummar Rao turns the man for his biopic Prahaar, and the trailer of the film makes you feel restless and breathless!

November 26, was a day, that needs no explanation for any Indian, and the trailer builds its story around the same, recreating the horror of that unfateful night! The visuals are not disturbing; they make you feel choked. However, very quickly, the trailer pushes 26/11 to the background of every frame, and it wisely turns to the less-told story of the man who had to prove it in court. Rajkummar Rao plays Ujjwal Nikam, the special public prosecutor who led the case against Ajmal Kasab.

The trailer gives him a quieter kind of intensity than the usual loud courtroom hero. He plays a man carrying a national wound and a legal burden together, and looks pitch-perfect as he challenges the defense lawyer, Jaideep Ahlawat. In one of the scenes, Rao very calmly challenges Ahlawat and tells him, “Ujjwal Nikam Hanuman Jayanti ke din paida hua tha! Mera hisaab bhi Bajrang Bali lenge!”
